I'm often called Funtooguy because I've promoted and marketed waterslide temporary tattoos since 1988. I view my products as an alternative to the lifetime commitment of real tattoos. I constantly do research to find the most realistic and best quality in the industry.

Waterslide tattoos...then and now

Waterslide temporary tattoos were first introduced to the United States in the mid 1980's.  At that time, the only quality waterslide tattoos were imported from Japan where they are called "Paper Tattoos". The person who imported them called them "Removable Tattoos" and I referred to them as "Temporary Tattoos", which became the common name for waterslide tattoos. .

By the 1990's, some manufacturers discovered how to make waterslide tattoos using printing techniques similar to making waterslide decals.  Although the quality doesn't match that of the Japanese Paper Tattoos, it has resulted in almost an unlimited selection of styles and artwork. I refer to these tattoos as "Traditional Tattoos" since they are mass produced on printing presses.  Learn more about waterslide tattoos here.
